Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Almighty and everlasting God,
You have taken up body and soul
into the heavenly glory the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of Your Son: Grant, we beseech You,
that, ever intent upon heavenly things,
we may be worthy to be partakers of her glory.
Through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
One God, forever and ever.
Amen.

Playground - Before and After School Hours

We please ask that before you drop off or after you have collected your child at the end of the day to leave the school grounds promptly. All playground equipment is out of bounds and we encourage you to take your children to Grenville Oval if you would like to catch up with other parents for a chat while your children have a play.

RAT Collection

If all parents could please come through the office to collect their child's allocation of RATs. This supply of RATs are the Nasal Tests and we would ask parents to collect these asap to ensure that children are catered for. As you can imagine there is a very large supply of these which are difficult to manage, hence we would like these collected as soon as possible.

National Science Week

Happy Science Week everyone!
The St Kieran students were so lucky to have a number of visitors this week who shared their work in the field of Science and experienced some exciting activities to explore and enjoy.
Kindy had a lot of fun playing with Mrs Stanford’s special aeroplanes and enjoyed blowing some ‘super dooper’ bubbles.
Pre-Primary and Year 1 students visited Servite College for some Science experiment fun.  These were so exciting and our favourite was definitely the elephant toothpaste!  Many thanks to Servite College and especially Mrs Carla Brew – Head of Science.
Year 2 and 3 students were treated to a very interesting talk from Mr Andrew Young, one of our parents, who talked about his work as an Optometrist.  Eyes are so fascinating and we know that we will all benefit from the work of Optometrists at various stages in our lives!
Year 4 students had an amazing incursion with a researcher from the Telethon Kids Institute.  Saraya is a PhD student who is studying Translational Genetics.  She talked to us about DNA.  We completed a great activity which showed us just how important our DNA instructions are!
Year 5 and 6 students had a visit from Mr Phil May, also one of our parents who works for one of the biggest IT companies in the world.  He is a ‘Solutions Architect’ and manages IT servers in Australia and his work is so vital in communications.  It was amazing to hear how the systems all work together to provide us with this incredible service.

It has been a very busy week and one which has shown us the marvellous and diverse world of Science.

Remember:  Science is EVERYWHERE!
